are you doing some sort of quick certification program at UCLA? or is it just to get some general credits and have some fun? 3 months of school isn't really enough to get anything for your money.

^many highschool's, colleges n uni's have these exchange programs for their students for a semester or two...their not that expensive...

not like normal foreign student tution fees...
most likely she just has to pay for her ticket n a small amount of money to attend the program.... shouldnt be too bad lar

  6. ^That would be such a cool program if my school had it.... i would love to travel to HKU for a semester!

But good luck finding a place to stay!

yes! thank you MissAngieCheekS, thats exactly what it is. I was surprised at the reactions - I thought it was normal to spend a semester abroad or at another uni during your program? Maybe it's a Europe thing.. everyone does it around here. I, in fact, dont have to pay any tuition fees to UCLA at all except for books, living, etc.

^ its rare in the US to go hopping around from school to school to do exchanges unless you do it for a foreign language course.

when i was in Uni they had a few exchanges to go to schools in china and the UK but i never took advantage of it and kinda regret it.

UCLA is a public school so they are funded by the taxes payed by the people that live in the state and so they give preference and pricing to the people living in cali, so its normal for them to charge people out of state more than they would if you lived there...same would be if i wanted to study at the UK i'm looking at quite a heafty tuition cost.

to my knowledge its rare in most places to just go somewhere else for a session...
depending on the uni... a lot don't even recognise the units of credits studied abroad, as the courses there may be a lot "easier". plus the corresponding course may not even be anywhere near what u were planning on studying...

but if that was a choice, i'd def do it... nice experience =)
