I like U-87 better...the fast pace songs for this cd isn't that catchy no matter how many times I listen to it....but then again all the songs will be made into mandarine as well so it might be better in that version Can't wait for that cd....
After listening to it 100+ times, I changed my mind. This is a worthwhile album afterall The first 5 tracks are, as expected of plugging tracks, enjoyable. I particularly like 裙下之臣 for the grand melancholy tune and arrangement. 白玫瑰, 黑擇明 and 富士山下 are very well written in the lyrics department. 解藥, 天公地道 and 粵語殘片 are non-plugged hidden gems. Overall, I think I enjoy the darker, more mature overtone of his latest albums, from U87's grandeur to the melancholy now. Loving his change in style (so much better than the too-positive image of EEG =_=b) I guess you are right, though it was careless of me to comment with only a few listens. His vocal ability was not missing in this album, rather it had a changed quality more towards the emotional than technical. Love his interpretation of 裙下之臣 and 富士山下, the latter of which reminds me of 葡萄成熟時. Very good.
LOVE this album! especially 富士山下. listened to it on repeat for the past few months and i am nowhere near sick of it. it is a depressing song, but the melody is soooo good. also enjoy 不如不见. not my fav album by eason overall, but still one of the best stuff in hk music
