Agreed, but the speeds still suck. Also, there are plenty of torrents that have lasted much longer then 1-2 weeks. I've seen torrents last up to a year and still have plenty of seeds.
well...if torrent fails u, u can always try DDL!! searching on http://loadingvault.com/ usually works....but if that doesnt work go to emule =D
Also, FYI there is an Emule plug in for Bit Comet. What this does is it takes what it can from the torrent, and suppliments it with sources found on emule. So in essence, you're using both programs at once to download your file. Ralph
yupzz..im using that one also..totally pleased..not any problems with it, nor speed nor resources.. and i like the persistent seed thing which means even if the ones who stopped their upload when they reached 100% or their prog (ye, they all do that!), i still manage to download it 100%, the emule-plugin works in the background; meaning it is still seeding even if you stopped the prog (BC, ed2k, emule, edonkey, a.o.) ps. again ive made a manual on 'howto set BitComet'..just look at my SIG
you can read Beginner's Guide http://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/help.cgi?l=1&rm=show_topic&topic_id=98
i used to use emule, it is fast when you download a lot of files at a time, so it can batches up the "seed" or something..thats how i read from other place
i never thought someone would still use that ^^ But emule works not like torrents, Emule gives you more speed when upload more, but since today (it was years ago were that started) are all using hacked Emule´s noone is sharng anymore... try torrent´s they are normaly faster than Emule, i used utorrent back in the days. But the best option is to pay a few $$$ for an Rapidshare or an megaupload account...you never need to worry about seed and peers or U/D ratio. Its always fullspeed. You can find any anime with google for megaupload and every new movie or game for rapidshare and you dont have the risk to get in jail xD
I enjoy emule Emule is about the credit system. and patience. The more you upload the more credit you earned. The credit allows you to jump queues and get you more resources. You can even store credit by uploading a lot even when you aren't downloading. Leave your computer on for a day uploading, and then you'll get tremendous download later but you can't abuse your uploading speed or else you might saturate the downloading speed later on. But before you even start to do this, you need to forward your ports!
