Ever Been Mistaken For Your Race?

Eh well yeah, some people do mistaken me for a Japanese. I'm 100% Chinese as well. But I'm never mad. I'm just like..."No... Chinese." I have a friend who always is like, "So when you speak Japanese..." ..."No... Chinese"
Although... one time... it was really stupid. I was talking to some guy, and he goes, "So are you white?" I'm like, "what?" It was... really weird. But then again I was talking to him over MSN... I guess... my skin colour could have... looked... lighter? I don't know. But I don't usually get mad.

 

i've been mistaken for a mexican. totally way off when im actually asian.-lol

 

i think i look like my race, chinese-viet, but some people thought i was indian...as in native american.

 

Some people have mistaken me sometimes for a chinese person..but mostly Cambodian..

I've heard that it's like that the other way around as well..Cambodians being mistaken for Filipinos and such..

 

i'm vietnamese but i have been mistaken for every asian race. i don't get mad at them because they don't know. what am i suppose to do? they are nice trying to get to know me, not make fun of me.

 

sure... when i was young i looked a lot darker n ppl used to ask me whether i was Indo or Malay... now that i'm a lot lighter ppl always mistaken me as Japanese or Korean... i don't remember ppl asking whether i'm Chinese or not... i dun get mad... i just tell them i'm actually African

 

I can't say that I have... or can't remember if thas happend.. but everyone jus assumes I'm Chinese.. I guess I jus look very Chinese.. ahahahha..

 

the funny thing is some caucasian comes up to me n say "ni hao ma?" n then they ask "r u korean??" n i'm like huh?? -what?

well..now its jsut wierd for me...people think i
look korean now...i think its b/c of the growth of
the korean population in our city...and the first
azn race that comes to mind for the caucasians
are KOREAN....lol...do i look korean at all? lol

lol maybe they saw you eatin kimchi?? I guess they see as Korean cuz you got light skin?? i dunno I see lotta Koreans light skinned..

I'm Chinese and usually people only mistake me for Korean or Japanese if I'm in a Korean bar or J-town or something.
