Always happens to me: I'm Chinese, people think I'm Korean, Vietamese, Japanese, etc... I'm not offended though...how many Caucasian people can I tell apart? English, French, German, etc...not very many to be honest!
i'm chinese ppl always think i'm either vietnamese or filipino.. i do admit i'm kinda on the dark skinned side so i'm not that pissed about it. i guess i'm all right about it.
Well, it happens all the time. I'm a chinese, but no one would guess I'm a chinese, not even the chinese ppl. Most ppl take me for a korean, sometimes japanese...
im chinese and people always think im filipino. haha. that reminds me. once during P.E., a guy came up to me and asked for my ethnicity. then my friend told him i was asian. then that guy said "i thought he was filipino". hahah!! that cracks me up.-lol
oddly enough, i'm hispanic, but get mistaken for chinese, japanese, korean, vietnamese, filipino and once for malaysian, i think... it used to bother me at first but now i just go along with what anyone thinks i am...
i'm chinese, i'm always asked if i am korean or japanese. i don't get mad, but it's really interesting how looks can make people think you are korean or japanese.
I'm always mistaken as filipino especially with tanned skin in the summertime. It's funny when filipino people just start talking to me in their dialect, always have to let them know. I'm canadian born chinese.
It's funny to see some Chinese being asked if they are Native American, because I am 25% Native American, but I look almost full (without green eye's and almost brown hair) have been asked countless times if I was just simply "asian", or Chinese. If you see my photo in the photo section you will ask your self what I ask my self "WTF were they thinking?! And even tho I have white in me I agree alot of white people are clueless, I myself can tell the difference, for the msot part. I Guess they think all Chinese look like Jet Li and Jackie Chan?
region wise, somehow I always get mistaken for a ShangHai or Northern girl, and I am not even tall or pretty! (stereotypic) country wise, I've been ask if I am Japanese (who will start talk in Japanese with me :|) Strangely, I've been ask if I am greek and eygptian =_=b 100% Chinese as far as I know.
