Its normal for that feeling to occur, its all because at one time you two belong together and after the breakup even after a couple of years. there is still comparison, harmless comparison of why did he leave you or why you two broke up and hes with her now... its nothing just jealousy and envious pay no mind... if you have a new boyfriend too it wouldn't have felt like that. its most likely because you don't have someone rite now that you have nothing to compare him to but u compared yourself with his current GF. hope that helps. Like you said time will eventually make it fade away. However, it is perfectly normal to feel like this.
