well if u drift around a tight corner, no cars gonna pass u cos ur blocking their way =D but yeah, generally speaking gripping corners is much faster, but then sometimes for certain corners, drifting is pretty good, assuming u can keep the speed =) well if ur racing, u don't plan to use the same set of tyres again neway... plus drifting looks cool, and u can get the colored smoking tyres these days =)
more like blowing up engines due to overheating at high rpm... or more likely axles.. the tires will have more chance of surviving than the parts holding the rims to the axles... my friend tried it, and his wheel came off.
it's cool, but probably not the ultimate way of controling a car. when ur drifting ur not really in control lol, u made the car get out of control so u can get it back into control by steering the other way lol..but that principle seems to work in that cartoon Cars lol
It looks cool and all...but in REAL life, its very unintelligent to put your car under such conditions.
drifting is driving with flair... how much cooler can it be than to have the tail hanging out, smoke billowing from the tires, engine revving...
