I take it back, great race in courtesy to the wet conditions!! Alonso, though did not gain any points, made the race great to watch and at times seeing him race like he did wen he first started brought back memories. Bad luck for Sutil though, he did great, would have loved to see him finish with points, he did a great job and though he got knocked out at the finishing stages, i would say he was my driver of the day.

yep i agree. i would be so angry with raikonnen at this point if i was sutil. taking his fourth place away. he worked so hard for it and did so well. hamilton was quite lucky tbh that the puncture allowed him to change tactics and end up with such gd tactics in the end. massa and kubica did well but they should have changed tactics due to the conditions.

I knw, but not entirely raikkonens' fault though, having rewatched that part over again, he had lost control quite further up from where sutil was so it wasnt an intentional overtaking or anything like that. Monaco in wet conditions wasnt Raikkonens' cup of tea, he did very poorly in this race. Still, bad luck to sutil, though the FIA shouldnt be bring up any charges against raikkonen for this incident. Massa showed great driving with the weather conditions and shd put to rest those that dismissed him early on this season.

well done to the BMWs they ran a great race and deserved the 1-2. Congrats to Coulthard too, havnt seen him in the top 3 for a while so he must be really pleased.

Raikkonen said: "I'm not angry but what Hamilton did was inexplicable. More, it was stupid."
    - Agree, being a professional driver, he shd have kept an eye out for the lights as it isnt the 1st time someone had bee penalised for leaving the pit lane too early, and he knew the SC was out. Felt sorry for Raikkonen as he would prob. have come out ahead to kubica. And even Hamilton accepts the 10 grid penality for the french GP. Think wat pissed me off the most about this incident are the british commentators putting it down to "an honest mistake" and "could have happened to anyone". I dare not think about how they would have treated Raikkonen if it was the other way round!

Good consistant driving from Massa and Raikkonen (even with the exhaust hanging!). Trulli doing wonderful job keeping his position especially during the final few laps. Overall, enjoyed this race, been interesting, unfortunate to Alonso though, losing position to Piquet.

David Coulthard will bring his 14-year Formula One driving career to a close at the end of the season.

The 37-year-old Scot, who won 13 races, made his announcement on the eve of Sunday's British Grand at Silverstone, which will be his 237th Grand Prix.

Coulthard drove for Williams and McLaren and is now at Red Bull Racing, where he will continue as a consultant.

"My decision was taken earlier this year and is based on a desire to stop while I am still competitive," he said.

"I'm still enjoying the immense challenge that Grand Prix driving represents. I also have the desire to look for new challenges within the sport.

"I will remain actively involved in the sport as a consultant to Red Bull, focusing on testing and development of the cars.

"I have an open mind if I will compete again in the future, in some other form of motorsport, so I am definitely not hanging up my helmet.

Shame Coulthard decided to leave at the end of this season, will be a great loss considering he was starting to make an impact with redbull. Being the oldest driver and one of the more experienced drivers out there, he will be missed.

Race starts 2morrow 1 pm (UK time), think its gona be a good one, been forcast to rain but dnt knw how much silverstones gona be affected. Surprised Massa qualified 9th, he was good in the wetter conditions previously!

Also, British GP will be moved to Donnington Park in 2010, yippy - cos its clost to where i live to easier to pop over to watch the race!! I thinks its a good move cos there has been funding problems for Silverstone for a while nw, also would love to see drivers try out new tracks!

Great race, rain made it sooo interesting though im suprised there were no SC for this race considering how many went off road plus the number of times Massa spun, lol!! Alot of great drivers out there and the top 10 deserves their places considering the bad weather conditions. Though im disappointed with Ferrari, not sure who made the decision to keep raikkonen out there on intermediates wen he really shd hav been brought back in to change tires, that cost raikkonen one of the top 3 places i think.

    Hockenheim GP:
    1. Hamilton (McLaren)

Have to admit, Hamilton did pretty good in this one, Ferrari just wasnt up to it at all, race pace was sooo much slower than Mclaren. Well done to Piquet also, did a good job, and def. got noticed in this race.
