I don't think I have developed a good enough palette for darker beers yet. What food typically goes good with dark beers? I usually find that food enhances the flavor of beer, even if it's just peanuts or a burger or something.
Yea, I don't have an advanced palette either, but I was at this restaurant, ordered a pork chop, and they matched it with a malty type of lager. It was a bitter type of of beer, which doesn't suit my taste when drinking it alone. But when matched with the pork chop, it was damn good. It's very much like wine matching, takes experience and age =P
^dun put the lime then then it will only smell like skunk i like the distinct taste ish though and its not flavored malt. stella tastes almost like heine nothing special but good. All the american beers pretty much taste the same lol although i hate budweiser shit is too light.
QFT. With or without lime, Corona tastes and smells like piss. And Bud is just water with yellow colouring lol
Beer pairing is an art too. For typical drinking, I like Heineken. I do notice that it tastes diff't from years/decades ago. I'm of pretty much anything. I"ll give it a try, but when ales become biased in taste, like peach lamjic or coconut porter, it makes it hard to just drink it. For typical foods, I'll take a lighter beer, like an ale, or lager. Either way, I'm down to try anything and everything! The only types of beer I don't drink are light beers.
I love Blue Moon, not sure if it's even available in Asia, but its my favorite beer of the moment. Cold + slice of orange.
