i always hated those nuts/lotus filled moon cakes. what the hell! i was hoping for a sweet lotus filling, but no i get some crazy bunch of nuts!

Personally I think plain lotus or 1 yolk is good. Anyone ever tried a frozen DURIAN mooncake? crazy stuff people make these days.

I think I have only ever tried those frozen mooncakes once and they just remind me of frozen "lor may chi", admittingly thought I am intrigued by the mango flavour one :p

^ I genuinely feel that nuts shouldn't be in a mooncake because it's not traditional that way.

But I guess diversity and new stuff is goood

Btw don't expect too much with the frozen ones, just frozen lor mai chi (skin) with ice cream in the middle

Heh.. so most people like lotus paste in mooncake only? :xd:

That's what I heard about frozen mooncake/snowy mooncake which was similar to mochi. There are so many flavors to try.

Didn't we have a thread like this already?

Anyways, traditional ones, I can't eat too much, only a little piece and I'm full. It's heavy, I do like red bean paste and lotus. A little bit of the yolk is ok as long as it's room temperature.

Recent years, the ice moon cake is my favorite, just that it's kinda expensive.
