i never questioned that lives of omission followed EU (which followed turning point). i just have a hard time seeing how lives of omission is supposed to progress the story when they dont give any backdrop/background as to the events in EU following laughing's "death". and no his memories of fala don't count. i just don't understand what tvb is trying to do here, at least not without bringing back sammul, ron, elanne, dominic, and co. i don't see how you could call this a sequel without a familiar cast. if it's a spinoff, provide more background please. tvb's just milking the laughing gor cow. don't get me wrong, i very much looked forward to this series and i will continue to have high hopes for it. i just wish tvb would have made this series' position more clear in the bigger sense.
Its not really a direct sequel, so its not continuing the story (due to different director/script writer/actors). Its more of a spin off of the character Laughing Sir. Since this is focusing on the Intelligence Department, you wont see any connection to the Emergency Unit, OCTB etc.
E.U made me sleep, never finished it but this is a decent series so far, don't care for Kate or Fela though.
They sure need to work on their attention to details. When Victor Fung was first introduced in the 17th min of the series, his title on his name plate was "seniority counsel". This is just poor use of English. If they want to use it, do it properly.
Looks like they took a few ideas from the series Chuck, like the layout of the police station and words like handler, so far this is better than the Academy series.
