i've been called fob many times because of my hairstyle, way i dress and because i always talk in cantonese even sometimes accidentally to gweilos.
sometimes i find it annoying because the term gets tossed around so much. but i generally dont mind when people call me a fob.

It's funny how we call recent immigrants fobs, but they call us "jook-sings" in return, haha.

LOL... No offense, but don't delude yourself. No matter the fancy word play within your own mind, in the real world, if someone is trying to insult you, they're really insulting you. It's all a matter of intent. (eg. Why's that idiot smiling? I just called him an asshole... Ha ha, he's not just an asshole, he's a stupid asshole, LOL...)

But you see, some would give their left arm to be considered JOOK SING instead of JOOK COCK. Even some that are originally from the PRC mainland would lay fictitiously claim to being of Hong Kong origins instead. It really doesn't matter to me where they're from; but apparently, it matters a lot to them, to have people socially perceive them in a certain way. In their own minds, they struggle with feelings of inferiority. Hence they ascribe their origins to certain geographic locations in an effort to make, in their own minds, their pedigree more appealing to others. But in reality, the cachet, or prestige factor of their newly chosen but fictitious origins only really matter to themselves. Such is the irony of inferiority; they go on about petty things that others don't even bother about (eg. being labeled FOB). :rolleyes2:

    Best answer for FOB?

Well, yes, but... Your state department insists on classifying it as a YACHT! -woot2
