    well really i guess it depends too on what generation chinese you are. Like some CBC's are like 2nd generation or 3rd, and only have grandparents that were born in China while their parents were born in Canada or US, or etc.

    like some members here, my parents are from vietnam, but speak cantonese (they speak other languages too). So moved from vietnam to canada.

    My parents are also from Vietnam.
    I'm Cantonese born and raised in the US

    Canton = Guangzhou

    Mom and Dad from a city called Hoiping in Cantonese, Kaiping - Mandarin near Hong Kong in the Guangzhou. We have relatives in Hong Kong. I was born in the U.S. Been to Hong Kong twice and China once.

    parents born and raised in Guangzhou so i am guessing they are from Caton...but the immigrated to the states 20 some years ago...
