well, i face this situation once.. it turns out tat i lost my frenship n gain my 4 years relationship..
Friends over lover... I once left my friends for my lover.. then we broke up and all i have left was my friends who was there for me....
Sorry to bump up this old thread but I just wanted to give my $.02. I would choose friendship over lover any day. From personal experience, a lot of girls like to replace their best girl friends with their boyfriends, and have their boyfriends become their best friends instead. This is a big mistake because in the end when the relationship doesn't work out they end up with no friends. So yea just my opinion. Friends > Lover
Yeah, I've seen that happen before, several times. Abandon the lover, one person.. abandon one friend, probably equivalent to abandoning the whole group of friends, particularly if they're girls. The situation where I'd pick the other one, is if that friend knows perfectly well that you are in a relationship with the other person, and tries to come between you.
omg i had this situation before few years ago=.= it was about a girl that had an crush for me over a year at school.. but i never really liked her.. but at prom i brought my friend with me to party... at the party they kissed eachother... well few hours later we all were drunk like hell so i went to sit on a couch.. the girl went over to me and kissed me while i was off the world Oo well after that i liked her a bit.. but my friend liked her to >< he asked me if it was a problem.. he told me that he will drop her for me if i liked her.. (but cmon.. afterall its the girls choice to choose one and not my choice so offcourse i give my friend the chance :S ) after that we had kinda a fight... since we both wanted the same girl XD but he was playing all dirty to try to win her >< like i invited the girl to go to the cinema... and he knew it and sayed that i cannot go cause his parents wanted to speak to me about the vacation ( i went with him and hes parents on vacation to france ) so i had to cancel the date.. INSTEAD HE TOOK HER OUT!!! :( and then after a week i asked the girl who she choose... she couldnt choose so i said nvm then.. on the one side its so stupid to fight for a girl.. but tbh a friend like that to backstab you aint that pretty either.. atleast i was the real friend that wanted to stop the "fight" well after few months the girl missed me XD and said that she never knew why she liked my friend... I FEEL SO STUPID TO TYPE SO MUCH AARRGHH but it was to late i gave her a chance and she missed it ...
i guess it wud come down to how much i love the person and the circumstances of the situation, but i rekon i wud choose the frend
for me, i choose lover over friends... i'm a really independent person and don't like to rely on my friends too much. most of them are grimey and sometimes i can't really see who's being truthful. i've been dating my gf for 4 years and to me, she is my lover and best friend. but i have to admit, over the course of 4 yrs i secluded myself to this relationship than giving myself a chance to get close to my friends or even make new ones. =\
wow it's hard to choose! i mean if the boy/girl is worth the relationship then .. i duna.. it;s really hard! but it depends on the situation!
i would choose friends no matter what friends comes first and if the guy really got between the friendship then thats just sad.
it really depends cuz its really ...hard ... many of us might say we pick freindship over lover but how many can really do it ?? like this is happening to me right now and I'm trying to pick friendship over it all but its just really hard and it will just get harder
I had to give up someone I really liked back in Jr. High to my best friend, well was back in Jr. High. Even after I gave him up and when they were going out, she had the nerve to tell me, "Well now that he's my boyfriend, you don't like him anymore right? You better not". Well after that our friendship was basically over, well faded away and their relationship ended weeks after. So sometimes it is kind of hard to choose between friendship or someone you like, that is if the person you like feels the same way. And now that I am in college, most of my good friends from high school are elsewhere, however I still do talk to some or kept in contact with. Still I am meeting more people from college, so it is like. You lose friends, but you gain more. As of right now, the only one that I have been talking to everyday is my boyfriend and so does he. He is my best friend because I can talk to him about everything except girl issues lol and so does he. Overall, it depends on you of who you want to choose.
i've had one of this situations b4. since my friend said he was going to try to get her first, i just sat back and waited. then when he couldn't i made my move. i didn't have to choose one or the other. it turned out good because i kept both.
isn't your lover pretty much your friend.. and friends become lovers.. so if you lose your friend then you have no lover n if you lose your lover you don't have friend..
I have this illusion that friendship is longer lasting than love. But it's my general principle that I don't snitch friend's boyfriends, including their ex. I mean SPECIALLY their ex. She'll think I am the reason they broke up. Or perhaps I am just too egocentric, and the world revolves around me
