What I find really comical about these tirades, is that whatever transport workers union you all are talking about, it doesn't really matter because they all have a generic attitude, and it goes something like this: "fuck us?" eh? No, Fuck you, you stupid bunch of shit heads, we're laughing our asses off that the whole city is stuck downtown somewhere, and I hope you paid a month's salary to get home, dick weed. If you would have taken us seriously and paid us what we're worth, you won't be walking home right now talking about the "injustice" of it all. And I hope your feet hurt real bad too. Fuck you. And guess what, when the dust settles you'll gladly pay us what we want simply because you need us. more than we need you. You'll moan and groan and protest but eventually all bend over and take it up your asses like the whining girlies that you are, and do it whenever we want you too because we ARE the only transportation game in town that your cheap assed wallet can afford." LOL... I've heard it more than once from friends who work transit. And I've live through several transit strikes (City of New York), walkouts, et cetera, so I know exactly what they can be like. Also there is a tremendous amount of anger on both sides. However, the ONLY people that should get the major blame are the ones who run the city. Strikes only happen because something is being mismanaged. The curious thing too, is that a lot of pro market force people (let the market go freely to where ever) balk at the idea of compensation parity. In another pay issue, NYC is starting to lose police officers to other municipalities that come to NY to actively recruit NYPD officers and offer them TWICE THE SALARY (NewYork City cops are probably the lowest paid in the country). In general, has there been abuses? Sure, but unions are a necessary evil to keep employers honest. Lest we go back to the days of labor massacres (US government actually used army troops to machine gun women and children over a labor dispute over a century ago). At any rate, I hope you guys get home. I wonder what they do in China? Oh wait, never mind, they use tanks and armed troops... LOL... Ralph
glad the government forced their ass back to work... havin a second suprise strike and screwin everyone over during a friday leavin the city stranded is no way to hold a strike, The city wants people to refrain from callin them assholes when they get back to work later today but im sure there would be alot of evil grins.
LMFAO man i haven't used public transit in awhile...... but i could imagine the chaos on a friday night if the transportation system went down.... i would be pissed as well....
