I don't know if anyone here remembers the Japanese manga derived Ghost in the Shell series, which spawned two season of anime cyborgs and a few movies; I recently had the chance to see them again and I remain blown away by the depth of the story. I was wondering if there was any continuation planned for that franchise?
Director Mamoru Oshii, who direct these ghost in the shell movies and series is coming out with a live english action movie set to be release in 2014 called "The Last Druid: Garm Wars". So not sure if he'll release another ghost in the shell anime any time soon since he'll be busy directing live action films. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/pre...unk-for-steampunk-in-the-last-druid/garm-wars
Thanks for the link. While it would be nice for the artists involved to get into other things, it would be great if they finally did something with GITS as it's almost a decade since anything new with it has been introduced. I'm sure there's still a tremendous fan following.
Noticed this thread lying around. Bumping with some more up to date news. Ghost in the Shell Arise is a new series of films set for release starting in June. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_in_the_Shell:_Arise#Films
