i'd beg to differ. i know quite a few people who were crazy about school marks when they were under ten, for example my cousins. one of them, she was paranoid about school ever since she got into school. but im not going to get into a heated argument to defend what i think of on this subject matter, as it leads to no where, and is counter productive.
its true what dann says, I know a few kids who stress, but their parents arent hard on them at all. My little cousin stresses to do well, shes got white hairs already and shes 7! poor girl T_T But in China, you usually only have one child, so maybe her parents would compare her to their friends or familys kid and be like "look how smart so-n-so is..." but not intentionally meaning it, but to the little girl, it meant something. I know that happened to me when I was young...heck it still happens to me now lol

aw 9 years old .. that's so sad. it might not have been just the grade problem though .. maybe there was something else going on and this just drove her over the edge .. *sigh bring me with youuuu!

^ Good Luck on that. So sad for the little girl though. Her family must be really harsh on her, to cause her to be so depress that she did that. And if her family couldn't help her, why didn't the teacher help?
children nowadays is facing much more problem and stress given by their parent, i had very poor grades when i was in primary school. all i can think of was playing really miss those days
