Have you ever been mistaken as Japanese instead of Chinese?

I don't quite know why, perhaps my part of town has more Koreans than Chinese now or something. People starts to mistake me for a Korean and not a Japanese...

While I am neither -sweat

people mistaken me for Japanese

 

People often ask if im from japanese. I just think its really annyoing to be asked this many times over.

 

I'm chinese, but sometimes i get Korean. never jap. I'd punch them.

 

lmao! Ppl always confuse me with being Korean, Filipino, Sing-chai, or some other some other azn place haha! and yes Ive gotten Japanese too.. maybe I dont look Chinese enough haha!

 

some jap ppl on the bus thought i was jap and started talking to me in japanese i was like oro. then a chinese woman thought i was japanese

 

yes, all the time, at least once a week. yeah, that's because i work at a japanese place..

 

Some people think I am a Filipino. It's because my skin is a darker colour and my eyes are big and I'm short.

Never been mistaken as a Japanese.

 

haha! so far i've been asked once. But alot of people ask me am i fillipino. hmm.... must be my dark skin or my family line...

ppl dont assume, they just dont know.....but i keep being mistaken for being krn, cept i dont look like any of them, they too ugly...sorry, i dont like krns

 

I was once asked by a woman in the gym if I was from Tonga. After my look of sheer disbelief, she said it was because i'm quite dark and quite muscular from the gym work. Absolute madness!

 

ppl are real prejudice where I'm from.. I've been called korean & jap (lol.. I think native too)
haha.. it's somewhat kreepy.

 

I've had some people mistaken me as Japanese and Korean. It's not just non-Asians that have mistaken me though. When I was in Taiwan, I was mistaken as Japanese once, which was weird to me.

 

When I was young all my classmates messed me up with a japanese. Now everyone thinks at first I am Chinese. One time my colleague thought I am Korean.

 

If you think about it:
People of other nations can guess at first that we are Chinese. The chance that they are right is really high. How many Chinese are in the world?

 

i am chinese and have never been mistaked japanese...instead they mistaken me for a korean....
