Have you ever been mistaken as Japanese instead of Chinese?

    ive been called Japanese at a korean market once.... im like wtf? and when i was eating at a korean bar..... they thought i was vietnamese?

    wow guys lol u've been mistaken lots ,,,, i dont remmeber myself mistaken beeing jap or nethin they would assume that im chinese 'first' then if i said im japanese they really do believe it lol ( thats coz they assumed, they're not sure :D)

    i've been mistaken as one all the time. even had a guy (native japanese) ask me for directions when i was on vacaiton there. then again, its pretty easy to blend in there i suppose.

    I ve haven't been actually mistakened but people are confused and ask me whether im Japanese or Chinese or etc

    Majority of the Asians in the Netherlands is Indonesian. So I get alot of "you are Indonesian, right?"..
    Weird thing is that most people who say that are not caucasian.. They just think i'm Chinese..

    The Indonesians and the Surinams (lot of Indonesians in Suriname) think i'm Indonesian.
    "Noooo.. you REALLY do not look Chinese!"
    I am.. believe me... I know!
    "Maybe you have a bit of Indonesian mix in you?"
    No I don't.. <_<

    Had a Vietnamese lady talking me in Viet once.. confusing experience, as I was 9 years old.. She didn't speak Dutch either.. so I could only shrug and shake my head.. "no viet, no viet"

    I live in Germany and every german people mistaken me as Japanese, Korean or Vietnamese. They put it all together.

    I remember being in China, and they kept asking if i was Korean! -huh

    people can't really differentiate my nationality as chinese, japanese, korean...unless they are asian themselves...we asians supposedly all look the same

    Hahaha, a classmate of mine at college asked me, Are u Japanese?

    That happened only once in my life, but I felt delighted though.

    people always mistaken me for being viet. but i hate how every non asian would just assume that you are chinese when some really are not.

    well, if a chinese person mistaken u as a japanese, then u really look japanese haha.

    I have been mistaken as, Japanese, Thai, Phil and Viet.. :|

    ugh...~ ppl thot i was jap in middle school =/
    obviously they were mistakened...then after a year...
    some of them started copying off my homework and school work and stuff like those shizz
    but obviously, they'd know when u excel at a certain subject
    *cough cough* math *cough cough* mostly everything -dead
