Have you ever been mistaken as Japanese instead of Chinese?

    i think i've been called nearly everything...
    japanese, korean, philipino, malaysian, vietnamese lol
    but i kind of understand why they call me korean or japanese because i come from the north of china...
    where the japanese originated from - single eyelids, small mouths, the 'classic' asian. >.<

    yep, usually its "i thought you were japanese!" when i tell my classmates or people, that im chinese. im okay with that, but i get tired of saying "im chinese, not japanese or korean" lol.

    nope. either i know kung-fu by the clueless ones, extremely smart by the more clueful ones, or else im not distinguishable between other chinese.

    I've been mistaken to be viet or korean haha not japanese though

    people usually ask me before they draw any conclusions though... I guess they cant see any difference between asians :)

  9. most peeps in west just call all Asians Chinese, prolly cus when they see Asian person they think Bruce lee, Jackie chan, prolly explains why they think all Asians are kung fu experts at birth ://

    people always speak to me in korean thinking i am korean even though im chinese

    nope ive never ever been mistaken, i guess its because people that live in london and are asian are mainly chinese!

    Well sometimes i find it easy to tell the differance its easy really but people think i look japanese which i don't anyway.

    i've never been mistaken either in london, but have elsewhere. i think it is bcos of chinatown, when ppl see oriental ppl their first assumption is chinese. either that or they are more able to tell the difference.

    no one thought i was japanese, but someone thought i was filipino because my skin is darker than regular chinese people. LOL!! the dude asked me if i was asian and i said yes. then he said, "i thought you were filipino!" LMAO!!!
