Have you ever speak the written language?

    I sometimes use words like hei foon and sum mor and some others in a joking way also...come to think of it if i wasn't joking it'd be kinda weird in a conversation

    I find that I will speak the "written language" (ie. like in news reports) to make a point. LOL. It sounds classier, hehe.

    Not really, it comes off as really unnatural. But when I do, it's usually because I'm trying to phrase something in Mandarin and I do it in Cantonese first.

    I always speaks the written language, although I talk in Cantonese, you know, proverbs ARE part of the written language and I adore them... use them all the time.

    Some people find it really odd and many CBC are just lost when they converse with me =_=b

    yeh,. i prefer if the subtitles on tvb is how they would say it..
    but in chinese school we wrote how we would read it.

    when I speak Mando it's formal lol not Canton tho
