well, the reason why no one has participated in the contest is no one wanna admit that they're still a virgin especially the "guys". it's different for the "gals" though. i dunno but the last time i read newsweek or something, it claimed that abstinence is on the rise with the younger population in high schools and colleges across the US due to the level of public health education regarding std and stuffs reached out at such an earlier age. most youngsters who are active in sex live in predominantly the "poorer" area where services and educational outreach are limited.
but sometimes u just wanna avoid fights with parents, because they just wont understand that you're being serious with that guy or girl...
I totally agree with you here... I mean if you truly love someone then why can't you wait until marriage? To me, I think viginity is very valuable ^^ and I mean once you lose it, you seriously can't have it back. I know alot of people don't think it really matter, but honestly, doesn't it make it that much more special if you went out with someone for several years and finally gets marry and have your first intercourse. For me, I just can't imagine my gf getting screwed by someone else before, it just doesn't feel right. Even if I love her, I just feel like I don't totally have that person part of me -sweat and yes, it honestly create that much more problems in our society, such as: Abortion, Divorce, STD, etc But then that's another topic on its own ^^

i think Asians nowadays are more open to sex before marriage.. i mean.. example? Most of my friends(chinese) are already having fun with their gf.. just an advise is play safe.. use the condom.. like others said.. the only disadvantages is the side effect of sex.. having a child before marriage does seems to be prohibit in chinese culture..

well if you're absolutely sure you love and care for the guy/girl. go for it. But sex is all personal preference really isn't it? It's not like its taboo anymore too, I know loads of chinese girls that love watching sex and the city, which is a series dedicated to love/open relationships and casual sex. so you can't really label chinese as taboo. Like ANY parents, chinese ones just don't want to hear about your sex life.
From where I live, having sex before marriage is perfectly accepted, and the majority of the people in the US does not, I don't think that's a rare site.
Even if my family's pretty conservative and strict about it; they still can't go against the force of society. Here in Indonesia, many of my friends, in fact also my brother, do sex before marriage at such young age i.e. 14 or 15. Although, I do hold virginity and no sex before marriage principal in high regards. So in the end, it all depends on the individual. don't depend on the world. ~M
