Grrr....I can only dream of such a low ping and such a high dl speed even with DSL. I browsed some ISP and they all can't deliver fiber and high speed dsl because I live too far away from the nearest "telephone centre thing" >_<' Apparently I do live in some sort of technological isolated place ^_^ (some small farmer village).
Maybe I can throw you a line Oh well, I guess you will have to do with what you have at the moment, I feel for you. I have another question for the rest of the people on here. Just got a Sony Tablet S and I'm wondering if anyone is streaming the channels using Android. The only app that I was able to find that could play the streams properly was BSPlayer (http://www.bsplayer.com/). I do not like the interface that much though, so I am wondering if you guys also have success with another app. I already tried MoboPlayer and Stream Media Player, but they couldn't play the streams at all. Daroon Player was able to play the streams, but it hanged constantly to buffer.
Hi Phantoman. Are you using a p2p program such as BETV or Sopcast on your Android tablet to watch TVB? Or are you just streaming the video to your tablet from your home computer? It would be pretty cool if you are using a BETV or Sopcast app for Android. If you are just streaming the videos from your home PC to your tablet, I would recommend VLC Direct Pro. It plays all your videos on your home computer to your Sony tablet. If you are using Sopcast or BETV, use VLC as your default player. Then all you have to do is open the VLC Direct Pro app on your tablet so you can watch TVB anywhere you want. If you have a 4g mobile data plan, it should stream perfectly without any buffering. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.vlcdirect.vlcdirectpro&hl=en Let me know how everything goes.
Thanks for the info hawai. There is no way to run SopCast on Android yet, but the SopCast team is apparently working on that. Assuming we can believe the last comments here: http://code.google.com/p/sopcast-player/issues/detail?id=65 I looked at VLC Direct Pro link and kind of reminds of this homebrew app that I was using on my modded PSP. You first had to run VLC locally on your PC and you could then stream your local videos through it. It's a bit more complicated in my case though. I have 6 SopCast streams running simultaneously, so ideally I want an app that streams directly from the SopCast local streams.
Wow thank you to everyone who is contributing to this thread even after it was created 3 years ago, especially to you Phantoman. Because of your work, we get to watch TVB channels live outside of HK. Thank you guys sooooo much!
Nice to hear that 1994pas The wife keeps me motivated through all those years (like I have a choice). Btw, I just want to remind all of you that you have like 2 days left to register for the PA Secret Santa 2011 !!! Hey guys got a question for ya. Got a new Android phone and was wondering if there are any mobile solutions for live stream TVB that doesn't require streaming via ur PC but directly?
See my post on previous page, so no ... there are no mobile solutions at the moment for streaming directly.
Hmmm.... It just occurred to be. I have a Readynas box that could do things like bittorrent, I wonder if we can do anything with that... What do you guys think?
The must be a way to re-stream betv using VLC. I used to capture live tv from cable box av output and stream through internet to another computer. Forgot how I did it.
Right now the easiest way is to stream directly from BETV or Sopcast using the method detailed in one of my previous posts. So if your Readynas can do that, then it's a go. Re-streaming via VLC is possible, just a matter of specifying the output of the video to a new stream. I created a batch file for this while I was experimenting with Sopcast on an isolated VMWare image: Code: @ECHO OFF "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" -vvv http://<Sopcast_PC_IP_address>:8902 --sout="#transcode {vcodec=mp2v,vb=5000,fps=25,scale=1,width=720,acodec=mpga,ab=48,channels=1,samplerate=44100}:http{mux=ts,dst=":8081/TVB"}" --no-sout-rtp-sap --no-sout-standard-sap --ttl=1 --sout-keep --loop --repeat In this case VLC would re-stream it on http://<VLC_PC_IP_address>:8081/TVB . The only problem I had with this was that VLC would crash after a while due to a memory leak. So I scrapped this option and decided to stream directly from Sopcast instead (less headache). In the same way I can use BSPlayer on Android to stream the channels. Now if you want to do this remotely, then you would need configure your firewall (modem, router, windows, etc.) to allow the incoming request. I'll give this a try when I have some time, it sounds interesting to be able to stream TVB on the move
Who want to watch live TVB myTV? You contact to boy7404@yahoo.com (Yahoo! Messenger) I use Teamviewer connect to your computer, and set IP Hong Kong to watch the myTV Live tvb.com
Are you using proxy to connect? I used to do that but find it difficult to get a reliable proxy server. BTW we lost all TVB channels in BETV.
Yeah, I have noticed it too. It's a shame that all the TVB channels are gone, but it is not really a surprise. I bet the popularity of this app got the attention of TVB (just like other apps in the past I believe) and TVB warned them to close the channels. I wonder whether the TVB channels are also gone for the people who bought the machine with BETV installed (I think most people will buy this machine for TVB channels?). If the channels are really gone, then they bought a really expensive media player.
If this is the case, they removed channels on the software to force people to go buy TVPAD. On one of my computer, I have betv opened from a few days ago, which still showing HD Jade on the channel list (I have not refresh). When I click on it HD Jade works. If someone knows how to get the direct link from the software to view it I will gladly provide it, just let me know what to look for.
This is another link I have with HD Jade, but it only works for 30 seconds. If you have a solution let me know. http://tv.3tvs.info/hdjade/index.html
TVB Jade is gone from both BeTV and Sopcast. But TVB Jade HD is still available on Sopcast. I hope they bring TVB Jade back
Hi all! Thanks cyberguerilla! I just bought my Tv pad 2 and it is working very well. I placed my order on sunday and it arrived in 4 days (I live in Brazil). I bought the D-LINK DWA-125 as well and the connection is pretty smooth. The only problem is watching online movies/series because the tv pad requires a flash drive (included in the package), but there is only 1 USB port, which was used with the wifi dongle. Phantoman is right... changing channels takes around 10-15 seconds. Well, I am not earning a penny talking about this product. But I think it worths the money spent.
I live in Vietnam and fake IP Hong Kong. You contact me boy7404@yahoo.com (Yahoo! Messenger) and free for all live
