Does anyone here have a sop cast link for TVB8? Also one other query, how much bandwidth/data on average does 1 hour of streaming take up with tvpad or even just using PC using SOP? And what is the difference between tvpad and tvpad2?
So many questions kEnnis. With a name like that you would think that you already know everything For those who do not know, "kennis" in Dutch = "knowledge" in English. Anyway, the HD ones are usually 16:9, but I think you will notice it when you watch the channels. TVB8? I haven't seen that one in a long time, but then again it's all in Mandarin if I recall, so I never really bothered looking for it. I'll see if I can find a link later on. About the bandwidth, see this post from 3 years ago. It all depends on the streaming rate of the channel. No idea what the difference is between the 2 TVPad versions.
Thanks Phantoman. SOrry for so many questions Thanks for looking for a link for tvb8 for me I like it for the music videos in mandarin
Hey guys which one of the programs work for TVB Jade channel, sorry for the noob question. many thanks :0
All TVB8 links seem to be down at the moment. Looks like it was available till the end of last year, so bad luck for now. Maybe someone else has better luck in finding a working stream for you. Please read the main post
A bit of news about the new free channels in HK: Get set for TV free-for-all TV fans can get ready for a big switch- on as hopes rise that three more companies will join the free-for-all. The firms, which have applied for free-to-air television licenses, look set to get the good news early next month. The government is leaning towards granting the licenses, but the final decision rests with Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen and the Executive Council. It is understood the decision will be made when the council resumes after the Lunar New Year holiday - ending a process that has dragged on for about two years. A source told Sing Tao Daily, sister newspaper of The Standard, that the government is keen to encourage competition among service providers to give people more choice. The three firms to apply are City Telecom (Hong Kong), Fantastic Television, which is owned by i-Cable Communications, and Hong Kong Television Entertainment Company, owned by Pacific Century CyberWorks. Asia Television lodged an objection to granting the licenses but it is believed this has been rejected because the government wants to encourage the broadcasting industry to pursue sustainable development. ATV, one of the two existing free-to- air television stations, has the right to file an objection under the existing policy, though there is no limit to the number of licenses that can be granted. Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Gregory So Kam- leung told a Legislative Council meeting on Wednesday that the Broadcasting Authority has completed assessments on the three firms and has made recommendations to the chief executive. He limited himself to saying the government is processing the applications and the outcome will be announced as soon as possible. I-Cable said earlier that, once it is granted a license, its free channel will be up and running immediately. City Telecom (Hong Kong), chaired by Ricky Wong Wai-kay, said it started shooting programs last March, with each costing about HK$1 million. Last week the company said it has already hired about 300 people. About 60 TVB staff, including a director and artists, have reportedly left TVB to join City Telecom. Source: The Standard HK
First off, thank you for those who have helped. I've been snooping around this thread and, though I didn't understand most of what was going on, I was able to at least stream something. So cheers to you all! Secondly, I have a small (or big, I really don't know) request. The main reason why I was looking for ways to stream was because my friend is competing in the Miss Chinese International pageant, but because I live in Toronto, I will not be able to see the competition live. Fairchild TV will be broadcasting the competition, but one whole week later. So my request is can someone please help me record the competition in HD? I've been trying to figure it out on my own (and through posts in this thread), but I'm not getting much luck. Maybe I have bad internet connection. I will try to record it myself too, but I just want some extra copies in case my internet becomes laggy or something. I haven't figured out how you can send me the file yet, but we can figure it out later. It is airing on Sunday January 15th 9:00 pm Hong Kong Time on TVB Jade and Jade HD I believe. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Please and thank you.
Just type in the right key words in google and you will find the download links of this show: e.g. 2012國際中華小姐競選 dl rmvb 高清 (for high definition). I don't think we can post the links here of download sites.
I agree with Fok2k's suggestion. Anyway, if you are looking for an HD quality recording, then you are in the wrong thread. None of the streams have HD quality. So either Google it or get access to the PA Download section and make your request there.
Thank you to the above two replies. I forgot to say that it can be HD or regular. I just want any recording just in case. I was going to try to look for links after anyway, but I didn't want to rely on something unknown. I didn't know if there would be any links and I wanted to have the video asap. My friend's sister is studying med on an island and is not able to get reliable internet, so I thought I'd send her a recording of the pageant. Also, her parents were unable to go to HK, so I thought I'd give them the recording also so they won't have to wait one whole week to see the competition on TV. Thanks all anyway!
