Is there anyway to play WLTV in VLC or some other player? I am using the WLTV client, but the screen aspect ratio is wrong and cannot be changed. TIA.
I have a question for thoese who has access to a TVPAD. since they are still able to watch the TVB streams, then the TVPAD must be logedin somehow. my question is, as a TVpad user do you actively insert a username/password in anytime after the TVPad was powered up? or you could just watch any TVB channels without providing any logins after the TVpad was powered up? this will help me to understand where the login comes in.
Wow, I can see when the channels do not work. I leave for a day and come back with a full page of activity Thanks to all who are trying to help. Wish I had my hands on a TVPad box to sniff some packets It's nearly weekend, so I'll be working on this little issue soon as well.
Here is a TVB Jade direct link which will most probably not be alive for too long since it seems to be from these same WLTV people: rtsp://204*45*123*110/tvb*076 (Replace all * with . )
I, myself wished I had a TVPad to provide you an accurate answer to your question. But from what I read so far from other forums, is that recently on March 1, 2012 was a firmware upgrade on their devices and coincidentally we were all denied access to tvb sopcast channels. I think that FW upgrade included a username/password change and that is why TVPads still have access to those channels. Today when I tried to access the channels on sopcast, it does not give me the "invalid username and password" message anymore, now it says "channel is offline now". I think they might have changed to a totally different address.
yea, you are right. 76.73.22.163 seems to be gone now, can't ping it nor telnet to it. I guess they have chagned to a new IP, Can PPL who has a TVPAD sniff which server and port it connects to?
All TVB related channel on betv and wltv isn't working, anyone know what's going on? and now to fix it? Many thanks.
Looks like the direct link does not work anymore, that was quick. The PPStream link does not work for me either. @boy7404, how do you open the PPStream link ? Can someone translate this ? --------------------
"Note - because the broadcasters BETV cheap cell behavior: BETV official wrote: BETV will start certification on March 1, when all the old versions will not work properly. Following Sopcast channel will be removed: Code: .... .... .... .... The new program source out will be notified....."Google translate.
Actual translation "Note - because the broadcasters BETV despicable activity: BETV officials stated: BETV will start certification on March 1, so in the mean time all the old versions will not function properly. Following Sopcast channel will be removed: ID: .... .... .... .... Any new program source released will be notified to everyone.....
Thanks, I did the Google Translate before as well, but it still didn't make sense to me Things like "BETV cheap cell behavior" ??? Also what do they mean with "BETV will start certification" ???
well basicly it saids. "Note - Due to the Bad behavior from the BETV broadcasters: BETV official Note: BETV will start be using authentication from March 1, then all old clients will not work properly. Following Sopcast channel will be removed: Code: .... .... .... .... Once The new program sources are out you will be notified.
I just asked my co-worker who has a TVPad. He says everything (TVB, TVB HD, TVB News, J2, ATV....) are is still running smoothly. No problems at all. In fact, he says it seems like all the channels are running faster now. He does not need to input any username or password. But he did need to update the firmware on the TVPad yesterday. I think it is sort of impossible to sniff out any packets or IP from the TVpad. First of all, it is an Android-based operating system. Second, there is no way of connecting a mouse or a keyboard to the TVPad. So extracting any data is hard without any input device. I think that the TVPad is nothing more than a receiver connected to the internet. It is like a satellite receiver that is connected to a telephone line. I think the provider of the channels has a list of MAC addresses of all TVPads that can connect to their server. This is just my guess. I think the only solution right now is to buy one. I am in the process of getting the TVPad M121. If anyone wants me to sniff out the packets, post the instructions and I will try it. But if I have to break open the TVPad to do any of this, then I won't do it because it will cost me $200. If Phantoman has any suggestions, please let me know. The one good thing about this is that if I do buy one of these TVPad, the channels should still be running for a long time. TVB or ATV will have a hard time shutting these channels down because they won't know the IP address of the source providing these the streams.
