text book authors rip people off. they make a book, sell it, make a new edition, change somethings here and there, forcing you to buy a BRAND NEW one for FULL PRICE, and repeat. we give free money.
yeah... ugh, I hate buying textbooks because I always end up wasting them, so what's the point? I barely use them.
hmm.. i have no textbooks for the past 3 years already.. just photocopy relevant readings.. guess it really depends on the course of studies.
here's what we do in Hong Kong and at my school lol (not in HK right now) ONE guy buy the book make friends with a printer and have them photocopy reproduce the WHOLE book for u
yeah that can save cash too... even at 10 cents a page its alright 400 page book = 40 dollars but can be a huge hassle
$500 bucks for 4 books used gonna have to see if I could get a deal for selling a couple fingers don't think I need all of them after all
Buying used books on Amazon can save you a bunch of greens : ) I borrowed a book from a classmate and photocopy the chapters needed and use it for class the other semester. People sell their books on my campus like at the beginning of every semester. I'm poor so I find every possible way to save money, most of the time haha
books can be really really expensive, but i guess i've gotten used to the fact that it's just something u need in school, and sell it later when ur done with the course. i would suggest buying on ebay/amazon/half if you can, and check your local public and school libraries to see if any books are available for checking out. also, u can make some buddies in your major and if they have already taken that course u can try to borrow their book or at least try to buy it off him/her for cheaper. i would NEVER buy books from the school bookstore unless there was nowhere else to get them, cause school bookstore costs the most. also, u can email ur prof ahead of time and check to see if it's alright to use older editions of whatever book is being required.
seriously i don't really read my txts, i use it for doing hw. so i would just go to the reserve at the lib to borrow the bk. saves lots of $.
haha...thought maybe I give some hints for studying... sometimes u don;t really need to buy the books...the class presentation is good enuff for study...ne thing else on the web for technical courses...for sure on the web... engineering math books...might take the class notes and borrow from library... try doing a search for info but for sure go to the library
I got mine too --'' well 2 months ago and OMFG 7 TEXTBOOKS cost me about 400 bucks and only 1 was used. I have to wait til my spring semester..and i dont even use one of the books but my prof insisted we buy it
hey i have your cell bio book!!! you should try buying the international edition.,.... same shit and cost less.... unless your teacher is a bastard and wants to profit off of their students and force them to buy online access codes.... those cost me another 50 dollars
@_@! That's the biochemistry textbook I'm using too! And guess what, you can download it! I just downloaded it a few days ago, after spending $120 on it the first week of school...:@ To make things worse, I found out like one month ago that my professor is only basing the course on HIS NOTES - and the textbook is supplementary resource to read at your own leisure/pleasure, to further enhance and stimulate your interest in biochemistry. SO PISSED!!!!
yea half is amazingly cheaper! I hate textbooks! How do they expect people to get an education with the prices being so ridiculous.
Daylight robbery. Pop in the library although some loan charges can be ridiculous i.e. one day loans -__-;;
lol, textbooks?! what's that? hahahahas. I always borrow them from library!! or simply use the web. kekekekes.
