Anyone can comment on something if they have actually seen/experience the topic at hand, ignorance is unacceptable and frankly a lot of caucasians are ignorant as hell and really need to get their heads checked out, but of course asian's are also very ignorant so guess what we are the same after all...... i listen to japanese, korean, cantonese, mandarin, thai, vietnamese, and english forms of entertainment and hell i don't understand anything besides english and canto so what? I still like korean dramas and that wouldn't be possible if I couldn't understand them without the subtitles so if anyone that gets offended over something so stupid then hell you just spotted ignorance and arrogance together in human form
I think its great other races watch Asian shows. It leads to more discussion and more place where I can find them. As far as your remark on commenting don't you watch other shows and comment as well?
lol taiwanese and HK dramas are the best but Taiwanese dramas's acting looks so fake =(lol i mean if White people watch White dramas, why cant asians watch asian drama?
i dont think its a bad thing. people can have their opinions but i dont think just because they think one girl cant act is actually gonna stop them from watching other dramas. not for nothing asians dramas are like the greatest
every once in a while its annoying because the people will type like in the comments on the videos oo i dont understand chinese can someone explain to me what just happened i can only read the subtiltes in english or they will say something like that and its jsut annoying like why are you watching this when you dont even understand it thats why like i cant sit there and read subtitles and think it just defeats the purpose of even watching tv just go read a book then like no im not rasict or anything and they are entitled to watch it but its just annoying every once in a while
It doesn't matter to me. They can watch whateverthey want. What really pissed me off is that I know some Chinese people who doesn't give crap about their own culture. Mocking people and calling them FOBs.
I don't mind other people watching asian drama because i watch korean, jap and taiwanese drama as well as TVB ones. But I really hate it when they have nothing good to say about it and start dissing it because of the culture/tradition because its like they dont understand it and they start shooting their mouth off.
i think its great people are watching different dramas around the world because they are having a interest in what they are doing...we cant just watch one thing in one country, like i watch chinese, japanese and korean drama.. its really interesting... i think everyone does have their opinion and they are in entitle to that... its good other people are watching so its getting more and more popular every where...
Isn't it better this way? I mean, this way asian producers are making more cash, which means more profit, which means more drama for us. Its a win-win situation =D
It annoys me when its on youtube and all the white guys do is comment on how they want to have sex with the women on the show. besides that its all good.
No offense, but... If the person made a comment about a "white" American TV program's actor or actress, I presume you won't feel as upset. Your problem is a sense of racial inferiority, such that any neutral comments about something that is close to your ethnic background is taken personally and elicits a negative response that is disproportionate to the perceived offense (comments that you feel are being made by white people who are not racially qualified to make) Get over it. You may have an affinity to being Asian, but being Asian doesn't belong to you. Anyone can participate. If you applied your selfish convoluted standards then non whites in the US should get out. And guess what, every day of the week there are white and black people being born in Asia (so like they're Asian too). Oh, and you can tell Mr. "Korean guy" in your class that the reason why Korean programming is shown all over Asia is because "his" government in the Republic of Korea has decided to invest in Korean entertainment media and encourage its distribution throughout Asia (aka the Korean Wave). So if he's offended, tell him to go "back to where he came from" and vote the government out of office so that no more Korean programs would be shown outside of Korea. Racism can cut many ways. Sometimes the forehand doesn't hurt as much as the backhand. Ralph
