    put it this way,

    if a guy told her on the phone she might accept him.

    if a guy told her that he like's her on the phone, he is likely to have 50%

    if a guy told her that he likes her through face to face - > he chances are significant.

    But than again, the chances of getting hurt is greater as the chances of getting accepted is higher.
