    is that your closing statement?
if you're into speed dark, i read that graphics is the only system intensive activity that really takes advantage a dual processors system for desktops. its been a while so i dont fully remember the details but i do remember that adobe was one of the apps they used to benchmark

erm.. yeah, maybe i didn't close it too nicely so you didn't notice that was the statement. =P anyway, since i'm still a student, i can't really afford dual proccessors systems. that's why i chose AMD in the first place you see..

well if its unstable it might be something overheating u could of put the heatsink on the cpu on improperly or didnt put any thermal grease on which is needed. it could also be the mobos core heating up => nvidias core for the athlons is aknown overheater nfs2 i think its called i forget, if u want VERY CAREFULLY leave the side off the computer off and boot it up, play a game with graphic intensenessaty o_O... lol or a graphic aplication just somethign to really work that system then feel teh metal heatsink of the cpu and the chipset. it could also be a irq problem where to many resources are sharing the same irq or maybe a driver issue, an issue with windows or u could just have bad settings in ur bios, check the cpus clock speed multipliers and wat not. oh and also important is ur power supply, make sure its rated to handle the new cpus as they need alil bit more juice. oh and for fans the larger fans and smaller fans usualy push the same amount of air per sec of cfm however the larger fans run at a slower speed and therefor run quieter, the smaller fans run faster causing more noise BUT they push the same amount of air and therefor move the same amount of air around ur case, interestingly i have a small 80 mm fan that runs quieter then my 120mm fan o_O then i have another 80 mm fan runs lound like shizbat omg that thing can crank out some noise, but its air output is amazingly large ^_^;; yeah i think thats enough o_O...

oh and i run an amd.... i like the 3ple core of the new cpu for the xbox though damn 3 point sommin gigs tripple core o_O seems like its faster then most computers in all aspects it has liek 512 mb gddr3 ram or sommin lol and they say the ps3 kicks the xbox 360's butt with power hahah imma laugh when that comes out and no one knows what to do with all that power

ok so now i know why that guy called me stupid. i know its a bit old now but still.. intel was forcing their chip onto everyone or something like that.

i am using amd just cause its cheaper and has better performance than comparable intel chips.. there have been tests on various websites stating this

i`m a intel kind... their processor speed is a lot faster than AMD... but AMD has great front bus speed... i still prefer AMD though =]

    here i am good at.

amd all the way. never liked intel. can't look at clockspeeds cuz those aren't accurate anymore. Now all i do is look at benchmarks. Amd now adays are cheaper, and don't run as hot. benchmarks show the AMD x2's runnin faster than Intel's. Intel is just bigger name. And i do believe in their anti-trust crimes. And no AMD's dont slow down like celerons. Overclockers are intentionally pushing their system to the limit and most usually switch off onto a new chip every year or two because overclockers buy cheap and just overclock. So i guess the hardcoregamers juist save money by overclokcing cheaper chips. Long term though i dont think anyone needs overclocking.

Im actually a AMD kind of guy, but it depends which processor line you comparing at. Currently, the Centrino line from intel which is a pentium m processor beats AMD's turion in every aspect in the notebook line. But if you compare the athtlon 64 vs the pentium 4, the AMD wins by default. The faster in benchmarks as well as low temperature and t low price makes makes this cpu even better to purchase.

i have both intel and amd. p4 2.8w/ht and amd 3200 64 bit
i have to say the amd is much more stable. speedwise they are pretty close. i cant really tell the difference. but the p4 runs hot. i have the antec sonata case for both with asus mb's. amd is also cheap too. when i make my third computer, it will probably be amd.

AMD - performance/price ratio is much better.

Gonna say AMD good price, good performance what else can you ask for ? As for intel the only reason why I think people get the chip is because it brand name
