  4. i just saw this right now. sick shit.

it hit me, Yip Man was a Wing Chun master, and Donnie Yen learned Wushu... wouldn't it be sort of difficult to adapt to the style required, being that each style has its own techniques?

like jet li doing jeet kune do bruce lee style in body gaurd of beijing....

just saw this, good film indeed, and the fights were sick :D Donnie Yen is so fast at punching!! ^^ if i were to compare this to Jet Li's Fearless (Huo yuan jia) difficult to pick which film was better for me ~

  6. im sure there were difficulties for him but many martial art basic are there to work off of...... and man this movie was pretty sick.... finally one where the awesome guy stays great... and doesn't have to train mentally..... =P

  7. i didn't realize bruce lee learned wing chun.... serious.....

anyways so a sequel is in the making.. can't wait for that

the movie was okay, but the action is amazing

  12. for those who do martial arts here, what do you think is the purpose for ip man to be punching as many times as he did? wouldn't a well placed punch and with a bit of force achieve the same thing and more energy efficient?

  13. the multiple hits are very quick but to even be able to put force behind each punch without the loss of speed is very difficult... but his punches were all focused into one area at a time, either to the chest, face, or ribs..... with multiple blows like that its much harder to recover from since he pretty much hits the same spot multiple times instead of pushing all his strength into one punch which is a lot slower.... speed > strength in this case, which donnie is amazing at.... the blocks and counters he makes are so efficient and quick, draws the attack into a counter :O
