I agree with this, although its not really a new phenomenon -^_^. Girls have always been obsessed with idols, regardless of culture. It can definitely become a problem when you are attempting to match someone to an artificial personality. Not saying that you might never meet a guy who will sweep you off your feet and you'll live the rest of your life like a korean drama... but more than likely you'd spend your life waiting. I'd say relationships are 30% luck and 70% what you make it. If you're interested in a guy and he seems interested in you, give it a chance. I kind of look at life like a branching tree. If you say no to something you're cutting off that branch before it has a chance to grow into anything which might be potentially amazing. also, in the words of my idol Ms. Frizzle: Take Chances! Make Mistakes! Get Messy!! (and wear a condom during sexual intercourse).
PhyPhy, if you want a boyfriend then go out and search for one.. if not it's alright... whenever you feel ready. At least you can do whatever you want first... then worry about it later.

i kinda know what you mean Phy Phy.. i'm 19 going onto twenty soon as well. once i hit 20 i will feel D= !!! parents also keep asking about this whole "got a boyfriend right now" thing going on.. but seeing as i study away from home, they don't bug me so much..until i go visit home. haha.. i'm sure the right person will come soon and you will love his imperfections and everything about him etc. just enjoy the time you are single right now that is what I tell myself think about it.. if you are with someone who you plan to marry.. you will be married to them for about.. 30-40 years.. (unless something happens).. 30-40 years is a long time with them haha... enough time even!!! so..enjoy your freedom as a single beautiful girl ..till the special one appears

oh Phy, sorry to bring up an old thread, but I want to let you know you're not alone. I avoid going home to get away from the pushiness. I'm basically the only one single one left, so it helps to not be around a shitload of couples too. I firmly believe that our time will come when it comes, as long as we are ready. :/
