Yeah Jet Li's currently working on a movie called Rouge along side Jason Statham. Jet Li's playing a bad guy again, actually a skilled assassin whereas Statham is playing a government agent who is out to stop him. I dont understand why hes leaving the Wuxia genre cuz thats what he does best. All of his modern American action movies were pretty crappy.
Always sad to hear stuff like this. Why would it be his last? He is still young. I mean, look at Jackie Chan. Jackie is over 50 years old and still crankin out films. I've always wanted to see Jackie Chan vs. Jet Li in a film. Different styles, but what a heck of film it could be.
Say word. I love Jet Li in his Wuxia roles. I have all his Wong Fei Hung, Fong Sai Yuk, Tai Chi Master, 3 Swordsmen(?) etc. movies. I never liked any of his Hollywood movies. It's not him and I hate the storylines... always having to do with some Chinese guy trying to seek revenge with his kung fu skills... so played out. He doesn't look good in modern clothing, and plus, they always pair him up with people who are taller and bigger than him, which I guess can't really be avoided since they're Americans. I think it makes him look very wimpy and scrawny, and kinda ruins his image.. you know what I mean? Jason Statham I know is gonna be at least a head taller than him... unless of course they're making him wear platforms or something. -lol Same thing goes for Jackie Chan. His movies are so not doing it 4 me these days. I loved his earlier films; the man was on his way 2 becoming a legend when he went 2 Hollywood & as a result, now resembles a caricature. I hear they're coming out with a Rush Hour 3?? -confused
His last martial arts movie, not his last action movie ... his next one ("Rogue") is with Jason Statham. Whatever happened to the movie he was supposed to make with Jackie Chan?
This guy's acting HAS gotten better. You have to admit. Even over the last 4-5 movies there have been longer and longer lines and such. I dont blame him for wanting to be multi-faceted. His knowledge of martial arts is definitely well-rounded. I wonder..... Is it harder to learn the ancient arts or acting? hehe I think he will do just fine.
