I switch base on the audience. English as common language.. Mandarin for an informal and more personal touch. But unfortunately, certain phrases always elude me in Mandarin.. so I have to replace them using English.
Someone do the transcription @_@ "喂四點係cafe見啦" "果個女仔有病架,都唔明佢男友點頂佢咁passive-agressive咯羅..." "我個friend做緊customer service,佢話pay好就好啦,不過有時遇到d customer from hell都幾大劑...嬲到飛起羅..."
^The fact that you can read and understand my message says the same for you "OMG, kdotc is such a fob!"
omg hiake... 400 more and youre a vip... i reached the 1k before you but now youre 1.3 K ahead of me... terrible... LOL
^ Knowing chinese isn't a fobby thing.. it's an advantage that you would have over truly ABC who refuse to speak chinese/ makes fun of "fobs"... I switch between cantonese and english in any given converstion at home because some things are said / worded better in one language than the other... and because I try to speak as much cantonese as possible to keep my fluency from deteriorating...
So you saying that u knowingly speak cantonese due the fact that your fluency will deteriorate...Interesting...I put into account on my project.
LLOOOOOOLLLLLL WWWHHAAT THE FUCKK?!?!?!?!? you just said "disappeared the stats data table" what a loserr hahahahhahaha
@dann: I've lost this thing called "a life" during my exam... thus the skyrocketing post counts... though still nothing comparing to XJ <_< @kdotc: Too much babelfish is really unhealthy to you... It's funny though ダイスは行く is more like "dice walking" which is a huge WTF too @mooiced: Even when I talk in cantonese, I say WTF like W-T-F too Just a point of interest (to which only me is giggling)
HOLY HELL!!! now that you pointed her out!! SHES KICKING MY ASS...... argg... guess im not getting vip soon..
shes gota be the fastest contender to vip since me...n as for the thread question...varies with the crew i'm with...
Sometimes I have to switch... my cantonese household can only speak a little english and my cantonese isnt super good so sometimes I just use both... and because I use so much cantonese I sometimes forget the words in Hakka (dialect from guangzhou) so i use cantonese words when talking to my mother... Its so confusing sometimes.. I use 4 or 5 languages in one day sometimes... When I speak to my colleagues or people outside i speak English, When talk to my household or other fam. members I have to speak cantonese or hakka... My neighbours and some friends of my household speak mandarin so i try to talk back to them in mandarin (which is not always working) and when i talk to my friends, classmates or teachers from holland i have to speak dutch >_<
