hmm i have an acer and the harddrive/network card gets REALLLYREALLY hot.. but it still works fine. just sometimes when i have the wireless running and some really graphic intensive program running my fan will go crazy.

if ur games run really slow it might be becuase ur gfx card is damaged.. get it repaired =)

*sigh* There is no need to buy ANYTHING related to cooling if you haven't experienced overheating issues the first few months after you purchased the system. I've said this time and time again and no body bothers to read it. All you need to do is CLEAN YOUR COMPUTER. The vents, heatsink gets covered in dust which prevents them from doing their job properly. Get a can of compressed air and just give the vents a good spray.

  4. thats not a bad investments at all!

^^ The easiest way to get it would probably would be online. Stores that I have looked at don't have them. It's a newer product on the market, ebay has some and they should be the real thing

i just remove the fan myself n vacuum all the dust , u wont believe how thick those are after few mths.. they look like sponges ! also i got a base fan for my laptop ... i still wont play games on the bed cos the bed sheet will hinder the fans cooling ability ..

I rarely play games on mine but I can't say I have had over heating problems on mine, it's over a year old too.

    Is the actual fan working?

Just an update on my laptop status:
The magic cooler is working well and it does sort of cool the laptop but its more primarily used for fast hot air extraction.. so doesnt really cool 100%
It's still hot, im going to buy some compressed air cans and spray tmrw.

Now you're talking. You should have gone with the compressed air can first.

Just go to the tech store by your place, they should have laptop coolers for around $20-40 depending on which one you want (ranging from looks to performance). It's just a laptop "holder" where you put the laptop on top of it and there are fans on the plate that cools down your laptop.

BTW, what are the specs of your laptop? Did you overclock? maybe you'll need to update the ram, because if you have not enough so-dimm your laptop will depend on the cpu too much so it's really stressful on it and it can overheat really easily.

get one of those fans that go under the laptop. fairly cheap and can save your comp.

  20. lol speaking of compressed air, i needed a compress air can to clean the dust off of my laptop but being at my uncle's in montreal, he didnt have any cans, so he took out his monster compressor for nail gun, and i used it to clean dust off -lol

much more powerful and efficient haha
