make sure you have time off from school/work to recover.. some ppl didnt rest enough after and have lots of problems
I now its costly but This surgery is suitable for people with certain eye problems. Therefore, one is suggested to consult with an eye doctor if he wants to get it.
Laser eye surgery has not had enough long term studies into it ... i.e the side effects down the track 30+ years is still an unknown. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a one stop solution to stop wearing glasses. Your eyes continue to change shape as you get older, this is natural. So you may still end up wearing glasses a while after the surgery. Also if your prescription is too high, all laser does is reduce your prescription, so after it you'll still need to wear glasses, just at a lesser script. You'll notice most doctors/optometrists/eye care practitioners still wear glasses/contacts. This is because of the largely 'unknown' factor of what may happen......
I've been thinking about this for awhile too. Mine's bad -3.5 on both eyes, but I'm not sure it's bad enough to justify the risk and cost. Research, talk to the doctors, and talk to people who have done it recently and those who did it awhile back. Lots have changed but the basic concepts remain. From what I understand, if your eyesight is really bad, it may not completely correct your vision or you may need to go in more than once. It obviously depends if you fit the criteria and whether you have astigmatism, etc. All specific to your eyes really. They also tell you that it may get better but that over time it could get bad again. It would then be your choice again whether to go back for it. However, if you fall into this category, chances are, the vision will deteriorate over time again. My friends who have done it say its not painful, they just have spotty vision for the next couple days/weeks and that it will really take months before it completely heals. Until then, they need eye drops for the dry eyes. I'm not sure if I want to do it since there is a 1% chance that something could go wrong. I do not want to be that 1 %. If I do decide to go for it, I would not try to find a cheaper, but less reputable place to do it. Most likely, I'd want to do it in some hospital or go to a established doctor - no fancy med spa type places, eek. THey still make mistakes there yes, but I know that they also have much stricter guidelines.
it cost RM3000 for both eyes in Malaysia. I did it 2 months ago. my eyesight drop from 5.0 to .25 both sides. At night when I see light outside, they will have glare around it.
I'm scheduled for Lasik surgery in a month. The doctors told me that i would experience some dry eyes and bruise eyes...I'll let you know once I have the surgery.
It's all depending on the individual. You may wanted to consult with several doctors before you do it. I had mine done last year and have to re-do it again this year. It's not painful when they laser it. However, the next few days you have burning sensations and thus requires many eyes drops. So far the pro for having it done weighted out more than not having it done. Yes, do you do have some problem driving at night...but the nicest thing is that when I wake up, I can see things immediately.
well got a friend, who had laser eye surgery 5 or 6 years ago but have notice a deterioration in her vision in the last year or so, now she got glasses...
Hey, Everywhere we go, people ask us this. Should I have laser eye surgery? It's a loaded question. In fact, it's an excellent question to ask, only a difficult one to answer. And although it is cleverly disguised, it really isn't a yes or no question. It's like asking someone, "Should I buy a car?" A car. Well, do you really need a car? What about public transportation? Or bicycles or cabs? Or even walking? Can you afford a car? And what kind of car are we talking about here? A sports car or a sedan? What's more important to you, comfort or style? Speed or reliability? Are airbags really necessary? And if you're so scared of what can happen to you in a car, then maybe you shouldn't even be on the roads.
^Errr.. You can buy a car and park it in the driveway only or lend it to your brother. Thats what I do.
i never had it but i know somebody who did it. He still has to wear glasses but he can see much better without it.
Hi, We must avoid the surgery of the eyes because some doctors claim that surgery is cause of infection of eyes... I know there is reality in ti or not.. Los Angeles Boot Camp
