It's only temporary. Don't worry and just trust that it will be just as good when you return. If you cannot trust him for that length of time then that's a problem. If you want to keep it going then just make an effort to call, text, chat, or skype etc every 2-3 days so that he knows that you are thinking about him. If he does the same then everything will be fine
we are in the same shoes! he is in cali and i'm in nyc and it is very difficult to maintain. we used to talk for hours from 2am E.S.T at least 3-4 days per week. i am tired to wait in front of the webcam while he rushes home to see me. after a while, he got tired and my mind tells me to stop cuz it's not gonna work. we still communicate even till now tho but no more webcam ... and as much as i miss the person, the feelings has changed. i dont know about the future because i am thinkin of movin to cali. well you can try cuz the absence lasts for a summer and GOOD LUCK!
How much do you know this person? Well enough or just getting to know him? I had a LD experience, at the beginning everything worked fine, but after 2-3 months, he didn't seemed to care anymore... his feeling was on and off. After that, I don't trust LD anymore. But this also made me realized that he wasn't serious about it. LD is like gambling, besides trusting, you just have to risk it if you really want to be with that person. Also keep in mind, think for both good and bad.
