    Thanks for all the suggestions (and jokes -bowroflarms) ... we decided to stay with Lok Yee. At least I don't know anyone with that name over here (Holland).

    If people call her "Lok" (and miss out the word "Yee") - it a boy name.



    Name her: Mei ling / Mei li

    Mei = Plum
    Li = pretty/powerful
    Ling = sound/bell

    Put "Mei ling/Li" together, you get:
    Mei Ling/ Mei li = mean beautiful.

    Mei Ling/ Mei li = 美玲 or 美菱 <- is more commonly used.
