^yeah, so would you tear yourself off the hooks that are clung into your flesh before the bom with spikes is going off? Or cut your own feet off because you have to play this game of survival with Jigsaw? Would you?
But the bomb with the spikes didn't left much over of the victim who didn't succeed escaping before the time was up... I have only seen Saw 3 yesterday so it's still fresh in my head and I kept asking myself what I would do in a situation like that. (enduring the agony pain in order to escape or hope the bomb with the spikes will kill me fastly?)
This piece of news remind me of the news a few years back with a young mountaineer who amputated his arm with a pocket knife after a boulder crushed his arm... He later wrote a book about his predicament...
I personally would never amputate a limb under these circumstances, even if the end result is death. I would try my best to continuously yell for help, but I can never picture myself undergoing self-amputation. I really feel that these guys have great courage to do such a thing.
when u r stuck under the tree for to long and ur leg will feel nothing because of no blood flow and eventually the cells will be dead...even if he is sent to the hospital the final decision is to get his leg amputated...but it's kinda hard to use the pocket knife to cut off the leg...i dare not imagine that
i don't know if i'd have the courage to cut my own leg.. but if my leg already hurts, maybe.. this reminds me of that story where some guy was stuck in some sort of forest? i think it was the amazon. he and some others survived a plane crash and because it was such a remote area with no hope of being found for a long time & no food, he resorted to cannabalism. >.< eww.
^Cannibalism is a different story. Now that, for personal, moral, and religious reasons, I'd never resort to that. If there wasnt any other food source, thats when I'd choose option 3.
Well, one got to use whatever resource one has... And I believe using a pocket knife to amputate a limb is possible (bothe leg AND arm, see my previous post in the same thread) Did the person in question ate his own flesh??? How did he find fire? I personally think there's no moral issue if one is consuming one's own flesh... Although it seems kind of pointless... But whatever it takes for me to survive... I'd run with it. You sounds like the evil masterminds from SAW...
