    Just keep both. MPC can handle a wide array of video formats and codecs. On the other hand VLC can handle Dobly Digital and Digital DTS.

    Yes, sometimes it's best to have more than 1 player. I use Foobar2000, VLC and PowerDVD. Foobar2000 I use for audio such as MP3 and FLAC. VLC I use to watch anime. PowerDVD I use to watch movies that are either encoded with Dolby Digital or Digital DTS.
