i read the book before i watched the movie. personally, i thought the book was a lot better than the movie. however, they did a good job with costumes and scenery/colors in the movie. =) there are counter-agruments to the whole japanese/chinese thing. i read an article stating that some japanese people simply don't want to appear on-screen. because everyone comes from different cultures, we've all got different morals/codes of ethics/ideals.

i dislike the main female actress being chinese rather than japanese. but overall this movie was sorta ok.

ive seen that one... soooooo funny!

i thought the movie wasnt bad actually... i read the book a few years ago, but i didn't read it before the movie came out, so can't really compare... but i adored the book! but you know how it is... books usually surpass the movies (e.g. pride and prejudice!). movies just dont do the book justice! time constraints... and ppl usually get images of the characters in their heads.

i was a little annoyed too... until someone pointed out that often in hollywood films similiar things occur... e.g. an american will act as an englishman... so yeah
