I bet everyone's going to have high expectations for Michael Tse 謝天華 aka LAUGHING GOR. Let's hope he doesn't bomb...
I just don't see him acting better than Laughing Gor. Michael is a great actor when he's playing the gangsters/cops characters.
Yeah, that's kinda what I mean. He's being shoehorned into the undercover G-man kind of roles ever since EU and Turning Point; one has to wonder if he can expand beyond that. Outside of legendary bad guy Shek Kin (who recently passed away), there are no others that can play just one type of role for a lifetime. I think people are inevitably going to unfairly judge his performance with anything else against his Laughing Gor role, and it may be to his career detriment. :stickpoke:
With the way this series is, I'm expecting him to be a joker rather than a serious character that would actually force him to exhibit more acting skills. These laid back roles have got to be easier to play than the Laughing Gor role.
I'm not so sure about that. Comedy is a whole 'nother species of stage presence. There are plenty of good serious actors that bomb when they try to do comedy. It's a totally different mindset say, than trying to portray thug or gangster cool (which was the entire essence of Laughing Gor). At any rate the first ep was actually pretty good. Let's hope it continues with success. -rockon
Yeah, the first episode is awesome. Extremely funny and cunning played by the main character, forgot the name. Lets hope all the upcoming ones are good as this or better.
yea watched the first episode today. much better than burning flame III. very clever and funny. especially with dayo. i wonder how michael tse will fair, haven't seen him yet in the first episode.
i would have liked for him to get more screen time. it was nice seeing him, but he could have added more to the series.
