My friend once told me that the hairdresser she used to go when she was still in HK, have some customers that works in the showbizz, and he told my friend that pretty girls in Miss HK dont win often cuz most of them are already "bought" by rich ppl and those rich ppl dont want them to win to get too much media attention

I think that's pretty sad and if they allow themselves to be 'sold' then they probably don't deserve to win in the first place. I occassionally still watch a little bit when a family friend records it. I don't find the ways they use to 'reinvent' the show very good though - kinda like big brother and look what finally happened...

Yes I think so too....seems like Miss Chinese International contestants are much prettier.

 

the shows also gets more boring with each year. i remember back in the 90s, it was pretty fun to watch hk pageant with different themes involving 4 heavenly kings and stuff.

its because requirements to get into this type of event is lowered each year.. 1990's was the best
