you know,..i've never been a "fan" of johnny depp as in "OMG!! he's coming out a new movie!!? i GOTTA SEE IT or i'll -dead!!" lmao. but i must say, props to him for his verstility in roles! i respect him for that, 'cause it's not like he only picks the "cool", kickass, heroic characters all the time..like tom cruise. sorry guys =x nothing against the Cruise man but he picks roles that are supposedly..hm..don't know the word? lol! but like "Willy Wonka"..it's a err.."corny" role compared to being the ultimate sexy "badguy" in an action film. i'm sure johnny depp has been offered many great roles like that and for choosing to be mr. wonka..just shows how great of an actor he is who's willing to try something new james dean -inlove paul walker -inlove

I have to say (despite how much I love Johnny Depp), his decision to play Willy Wonka isn't exactly trying something new. He always plays quirky/strange roles. Take "Ed Wood" for example. I know it's based on a real director, but he was a weirdo in that one too (a straight man who likes to wear woman's clothing?). And same with Edward Scissorhands! But yeah... I love him to death. =D
