yea usually if the computer doesn't show a screen and doesn't boot up at all with a beep it means it's a hardware fault. my friend had the same with his laptop but that was his hdd which failed. usually it's either the hdd or the ram that fails. but ram very rarely fails if it works in the first place. hence why there are often lifetime guarantees for ram.
^ really .. lifetime warranty for ram .. hmm.. didn't know that .. honestly, i don't usually "fix" computer or things in general. in the past, i just throw them out and get a new one. but with the baby coming, i gotta save on everything. just crazy. yeah, but now it's up and running again, i am glad i did it. it wasn't as difficult as i thought and i learned at the same time.
not true, when it first runs doesn't mean it won't die from wear & tear and daily usage; in regards to lifetime warranty on ram, this only applies to larger brand names like Crucial, Kingston, Transcend (basically the brands u can buy from a retail shop and you will have to send in the faulty ram for a replacement), if u got OEM ram like from NCIX or Newegg without the retail packaging, those will mostly include 1 year warranty; RAM found in Whitebox like Dell, HP, Gateway all come with 1 year warranty as the are OEMs (for end users) i get lifetime warranty on retail & OEM ram
LOL, if you read the whole thread, u would have found out that OP has solved the issue and found that one of the RAM is faulty and NOT your suggestion about the motherboard -noclue
Yeah post beeps tells you what the issue is....Use another pc and google post beeps for your mobo and it shud guide you to the problem
if it's a long beep it's not the ram problem...normally ram will give u 3 short beeps...it could be the graphic card or cpu....i'm just giving my opinion =D please dont shoot me
