The leafs also signed Clemmenson, Brodeur's back up for the past few season. Vanek also got an offer sheet from Oilers this morning worth 7 years/50million, but Buffalo matched it, if they didn't they would've received 4 first rounders from Oilers.
So we got Raycroft, Clemmensen, Toskala along with Aubin who is most likely going to the marlies. So can someone tell me what toronto is planning here?
er, that's because toskala is a solid goalie who's on the younger side of 30. guerin, on the other hand, is old.
two potential starters with 2 injury reserves. it's not that hard to tell. that, and they really don't want to rush pogge. if they're going to call up anyone, it's going to be either clemmensen or aubin depending on how they're performing with the marlies. that way, pogge takes his sweet time to develop throughout the season. once raycroft's contract expires after this season, the leafs probably won't resign him, and instead will likely put pogge in his spot. at best, we'll see a one-year extension for raycroft so pogge gets more development time. toskala's inked for the short term (2 years), so I think that's when leafs management think that pogge will be ready. if they like what they see from toskala, they'll probably give him a 1-year or 2-year extension so it takes the pressure off of pogge, but that's unlikely seeing as the leafs aren't exactly a cap-friendly team. expect pogge to start in 2009. who'll be his backups, you ask. well that's probably where aubin and clemmensen come in at a bargain price.
=/ my devils lost gomez... TO DIVISION RIVALS RANGERS omgggg what a traitor lmao and then there goes rafalski our only defenseman. first stevens, then niedermayer, now rafalski. great. well i wont turn emo until brodeur leaves haha
news! crosby has been extended by the penguins for five years at an undisclosed amount per year. this effectively solves the malkin/staal problem since those two both entered the league in the same year (and will likely be demanding the same exorbitant amounts when free agency comes along).
they def needed to open the bank for sidney...it's a smart move...but i think they will lose malkin or staal in a few years since they will also be asking for big money ....but i rather keep sidney...he's the future of the team....a better player to build your team & franchise around.
milan hejduk for bryan macabe??? is it tru? WTFF..leafs sux!! spending money on goalies and getting forwards and don't tink about a strong defence..dammm...another non playoff season
that would be nice...heidook is easily a 30-40 goal scoer... we need more fire power...we have enough D man... and financially it would be a relief ...Macabe's contract is hugmongus ...we are quite stupid to give him that much money ...just cause he had that one season where he got alot of PP goals from the point <_< but i don't think we can trade macabe ...he has a "no trade clause" in his contract. :(
http://www.hockeybuzz.com/boards/thread.php?thread_id=23088 remember!! its just a rumour..but its a high chance it's tru
