Sold shoes for over four years, learn just about everything you need to know about them. Most people thinks they are just charging for the brands, don't get me wrong, they are, but the research/developmental costs invovled are just astronomical. For serious runners, imo, go with Saucony (women) or New Balance (men). Saucony has narrow heel and wide forefoot, typically build for women, locks the heel down real nicely. New Balance has different width, so you will find an almost perfect fit no matter what your feet are like. Try them out. Like adrianc said, shoes are designed for specific sports. Running shoes are the softest, but they got no lateral support. Pick running shoes over walking shoes, unless you are my grandpa's age. X-train/basketball should be the next on the list, they provide both cousion and lateral support, but tend to be on the heavier side. I wouldn't recommend playing serious bball wearing running shoes, unless you want me to break you ankle on my highlight tapes...-rockon
I think Nike is wore for the look more than to be used, but I do like their Shox and Dunks. Adidas is good too, but haven't seen many wear those around.
I prefer Adidas, but I think the quality is better than Nike? China production as well. Anyway I give my vote for adidas.
i used to like nike for sneaker...but now i am so into addidas...not normal ones...the addi-color ones....tooo bad they are very expensive....guess i have to stick with my old nike :(
Nike is good for running and all those sporting activities, but Adidas is nice for going out for special occasion. I liked Adidas more.
