i live Nvidia better than ATI cuz the graphics look much better but it's usually slower. good to know that Nvidia is catching up speed-wise. btw, i have one crappy Nvidia card in my laptop =(
other way around now... most people like ATI HD4800 series now..since the price is cheaper and beats most of the nvidia video card... HD4850 can beat down 9800GTX and GTX+, HD4870 can likely to beat GTX260 and in GTX280 in some benches. NVIDIA had to do a price drop to match ATI cuz of the new HD4800 series.
