it is too arrogant to say that N. Korea is a fly..... and the U.S can never touch N. Korea without risking S. Korea... and trillion of dollars to rebuild both or even more if that happens.
Well, I'm certainly not calling the DPRK a fly. But one thing is for sure; Obama is quick, and he's not afraid to get his hands dirty. However, the DPRK plays a dangerous game. Every little political confrontation is called "a declaration of war" to the point that one is reminded of the Boy Who Cried Wolf story. One day they may find themselves being bombarded with nuclear missiles over some stupid fishing boat. Any yes, while the US would risk the ROK if there was a military confrontation with the DPRK, has anyone realized why the the US is in Korea in the first place? The war's been over for half a century, right? Wrong. The war is still on, but both sides had decided to temporarily suspend shooting. What the DPRK does occasionally is to threaten to tear up the truce agreement and start shooting again. So the US isn't really risking S.Korea, the fact is, the ROK is already at risk simply by being the neighbor of the DPRK. A trillion dollars to rebuild both is actually a very conservative estimate. But, what makes you think that the US is going to even consider doing that; that is, rebuilding anything? If Iraq is any indicationk, the US has already thrown so much money down and black hole and what "reconstruction" is there to show for it? But if you want to talk more about the political situation in Korea, let's take this to the Korean forum to really slice and dice the subject.
