Olympic Fireworks Faked For TV

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by ultim8camper, Aug 11, 2008.

  1. stop trying to take our glory away! china put on a good show....admire and give credit :)

  2. meh a record 15 billion spent in athens vs the current 45 billion dollar record spent on the beijing olympics, you don't think they could spare a couple million for it? they faked it for saftey purposes because it wouldn't be possible to capture them all on live film without risk of harming the pilots, not because they were stingy... the other fireworks were real except the footprints.

Couldn't they just put cameras on the ground or on tall buildings and film from there? I know there's the issue of the haze but less face it pretty much the entire world knows of Beijings pollutions it's not a secret anymore.

Can't please some people no matter what you do... China did a great job, it's the best ceremony ever!

"Our" ? What? Were you involved in the show? LOL...

Please. I'm an ethnic Chinese and I'm proud of that. But that doesn't mean that I'm willing to dodge reality for the sake of ethnic solidarity with a bunch of political hoodlums and their public information manipulation. I agree that the Olympic opening ceremony was grand and spectacular, and it was the best ever in history. However, fake is still fake, despite it being a very good one. -detect

No offense, but If you consider such fakery to be "glory" then you're welcome to it. I personally think that Chinese people (though not necessarily their government) are capable of a higher and more honest standard. headbang2
