So do you just want to save the data or you want to keep the drive? If you want to save the data, like someone said before data recovery (although expensive) or you can do the freezer trick. Doesnt always work. If you want to keep the drive, my advice is dont bother, its busted, its prob going to let you down again and like someone said, Hitachi aint known for its reliablity. Just go and buy a new drive - Seagate or western digital
